Call me dropless, too.
When I finished catching the bag after the final move happiness exploded in my whole body, I raised my arms up in the gesture of victory, people started clapping hands and yelling my name, girls took off bras and was shaking boobs while jumping (at least in my head, hehe). A dropless routine – a dream of all the footbag players was achieved by me. I highly recommend you to perform such a show. The impression after it is wonderful.

At the 2010 Australian Footbag Championships, I performed my first ever dropless routine.

Going through the motions in my head, I felt as I had hit things mostly to plan. Looking back, there were a few mistakes, but at the end of two minutes, I caught the bag, did some crazy jumps and then ran off like a soccer player who has kicked the winning goal.
A dropless routine was not something I was really expecting to do this year. I felt quite unprepared in the months and weeks leading up to the tournament. I was working on a new routine, but it just wasn’t happening, so I decided to use the same routine that I used last year. Vasek uses the same routine sometimes, why shouldn’t I?
I had hit in dropless once in practice last year, and many times with 2-3 drops, so I was confident in doing a good routine. I guess many would see the results this year with a *, as Dan Ednie was not competing. Dan has won numerous national championships, and competed at the World Championships three times (2004, 2007, 2010), so it was a big absence. As they say though, you’ve got to be in it to win it, so it was all about performing the best routine that I could and hoping for the best from there.
Still standing in my way was Jeremy O’Wheel. He also has a few Australian titles too his name, as well as four world records. He was up next, with a much more technically complicated routine. I think I was lucky, he had quite a few drops. In the end the judges only had us 0.2 points apart, but that was it, my first freestyle championship. The last time I won an event was the 2001 consecutive kicks event, so it had been a while coming!
You look back on the moment and even if there were tricks you missed, things didn’t quite go to plan, no one can take away the fact that it is a dropless routine, that’s something all footbag players aim for in their routines.

Props on hitting dropless! Mine wasn’t perfect, too. I mean, there were some mistakes. But, who cares!? A dropless is a dropless!
I wonder if Caroline took off her bra for you, hahaha
. (No offence, Caro!)
Cod, you are hilarious
Are any of the Polish crew heading for worlds?
